There's certain songs like Ain't We Funkin' Now that while in attendance I didn't really feel like had much meaning to them, and I didn't care because it's just such a fun sound.
These guys know how to get a crowd into it, both young and old had their heads bobbing to the music. It's light, vibrant, completely inoffensive noise that is just contagious, I had a great time being in attendance, there's a real soothing feel to this genre that you don't often get from other ones. It's not hard to appreciate, nor is it hard to get into. I was hooked about two minutes into the set.
There's a place for music that isn't trying to draw any king of emotions out of you other than happiness, and the crowd seemed to appreciate it. This stuff isn't going to challenge you, the display of the concert isn't going to go over the top with lighting or props or any of them, it's just all about getting into and appreciating the funk. A type of music that these days there's not a lot of appreciation for, but I can say pretty confidently that everybody that left that concert left craving more of it. A good time, in my opinion a family friendly one at that!
