The beginning of Coone’s set is definitely worth a thousand words. The theatrics are off the scale tonight with what looks like a 50-foot tall scarab beetle, with wings that gradually open up to reveal a skull. Eventually, Coone takes to his helm to deliver one of the most amazing EDM sets I think I’ve ever seen.
His remix of Steve Aoki’s “A Light That Never Comes” is the opening song that makes this audience feel like they are upon a rollercoaster experiencing this music before them, every one with their hands in the air as the music builds and builds right up to such a savage drop with distorted basses, and a four to the floor beat at about 130-bpm making this crowd absolutely erupt. “Science and Religion” is another song that see’s the whole audience singing along just riding the huge waves that Coone creates with fantastic style and charisma from behind the decks.
I wonder how they got that pneumatically opening scarab beetle on the bus?
I had a blast. Opening acts with Bizerk and Olivia were really good. I've been following those two for a year now and they're playing different stuff each time. Solid.
Lady Faith was better than Coone IMO. She rarely tours and seeing her live with all new material was so refreshing. She absolutely killed it.
Coone never played played my favorite hardstyle song Psyko Punkz vs Coone - The Words. You would think he'd have permission to drop that song, but whatever. He's still one of my favorite DJs all time though. He killed it too.
The best night of Hardstyle in DC! Coone killed it! Mekanika's set was hard as shit too! So glad I was able to make it and get my hardstyle fix.
