Having discovered London, England’s urban music scene and been inspired by its sound, singer Ellinor Olovsdotter later met Tim Deneve of Swedish producer-duo Jungle who helped bring Elliphant into fruition. In 2012 Elliphant issued her debut single “Tekkno Scene”, which with its hard-hitting synths, strong vocals, and seductive beats caused a stir upon release. The singer’s second single “Ciant Hear It” was followed by “Down on Life” later in 2012, the latter spawning a music video, which Katy Perry described as “bad ass”. Elliphant released her debut self-titled EP in early 2013, the success of which led the singer to sign with Dr. Luke’s label.
Having worked in the studio with Skrillex, Elliphant’s debut full-length “A Good Idea” was the fruit of that effort and arrived in October 2013. Featuring a collaboration with Niki & the Dove on the track “More Fire”, the album received positive reviews and later earned the singer a nomination for the Newcomer of the Year at the 2014 P3 Gold Awards. The subsequent EP “Look Like You Love It” saw Elliphant expand her collaborative efforts further, hosting guest contributions from Diplo, TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, and Dr. Luke. Following shows on Charli XCX’s Girl Power North America Tour, the singer returned to release the EP “No More”, centred around the single of the same name featuring Danish singer MØ. In 2015 Elliphant once again worked with Diplo, this time on his Major Lazer project, on the single “Too Original”.

There aren’t many artist descriptions that will contain the phrase ‘Swedish singer and rapper’ but that’s a testament to how unique Elliphant is. Working closely with TEN music group and Swedish producer duo Jungle, she has released a stream of music videos, singles and Eps, all contributing to the slowly rising tide of buzz that surrounds her.
Shows with artists like Charli XCX and at events curated by Mad Decent are all contributing factors in her steady increase in fame, especially because her live show is so exciting. Simple but effective, the stage is usually just filled by Elliphant, a Dj and a few dancers but that is all she needs to get the party going. She struts around the stage with a confidence and presence that really sets the crowd off, usually dancing and moshing to the wild pop bangers that Elliphant thrives on.
Elliphant puts on a show that will get your pulse pumping in a way that it is forever memorable and if these shows continue, her rise to stardom isn’t going to be stopping any time soon.
Elliphant is by far one of the best live performers I have ever seen! She takes over the crowd and invites you into her crazy and wild antics without much persuasion.
She can also be hella intimate with her music and how she is feeling in the moment. Don't be surprised if she simultaneously gives life advice and then tells you she just had her monthly friend come to visit and apologizes for all the previous statements she said about that. And she does all this with a smile, friendliness, and goofy demeanor. I recommend anyone who wants an amazing concert experience to see her! God Bless Sweden for making her.
Great energy from the first song! Fantastic contact with people! The way she sing and rap is just DOPE! The way she dance and move all fits together, it's just her. I spent great time. Hope to see her soon again...
