The 9:30 Club is a music venue and nightclub on 815 V Street, Washington D.C. Shows at the 9:30 club are general admission and all ages (unless otherwise stated). The Club has four bars and also offers a selection of sandwiches, wraps and paninis. There is no dress code and a coat check is available for $2.00 per item. Smoking is not allowed in the venue, however re-entry is allowed. The 1,200 capacity venue has been awarded "Nightclub of the Year" by Pollstar four times. The 9:30 Club was founded by Dody DiSanto and Jon Bowers and was a popular rock and alternative club in the 1980s. Before settling at its current location the venue was housed at 930 F St NW, which is how the club got its name. The club moved to its current location in 1996, with an opening performance from The Smashing Pumpkins. Since its opening other notable acts such as Bob Dylan, Radiohead, The Beastie Boys and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers have taken to the stage. Foals fucking sux.
