The O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire is a 2000 capacity venue located a short walk from Shepherd's Bush Market and Shepherd's Bush underground tube stations, West London. The venue has six bars and three levels above the main downstairs arena. The venue has won several awards, heralded as 'Music Venue Of The Year' by several publications.
The Empire started life as a theatre in 1903, hosting music and variety acts until the 1950s. Popularity of these forms of entertainment began to decline and the site was then sold to the BBC, where it was used as a television studio for the taping of a range of programmes. It 1994 the venue was re-opened as a concert space, with the opening show being Soundgarden on March 12th. Since then it has welcomed thousands of musicians to the stage and guests from across the globe.
Bags are searched when entering the venue, with professional cameras and recording equipment, food and drinks disallowed on the site. There is a cloakroom available, and there is no readmission into the venue. There are no age restrictions at the Shepherd's Bush Empire.
