Kristeen Young is always amazing and can do no wrong. She is gorgeous and impressive, a magnificent sight to see and hear. Her music is passionate, exciting and U-N-I-Q-U-E.
KY is absolutely stunning, whether she is playing in a large venue like Heinz Hall, or in smaller, more intimate settings, such as the Bowery Electric in NYC or the Pittsburgh Winery. At the latter, consistent with her past performances, her vocals were phenomenal, as were the keys, drums and bass. She played some exciting new music along with equally riveting older songs including, "Touch Tongues" and "The Depression Contest."
Kristeen Young is a rare gem of an artist, a musician's musician; highly distinctive and confusingly underrated. Those who get the chance to witness her in action should count themselves among the lucky. She is a very special, one-of-a-kind performer with a musical style all her own. Ahead of her time, she is sure to eventually be counted among the greatest musicians of all time.
That being said, she is also delightful and kind in person and respectful to her fans, which is much appreciated.
