Born on 28 February 1979, Sander Van Doorn made his first big musical achievement by securing residencies at Judgement Sunday in Ibiza, Spain and at the Gallery in London, England, after getting started in 2004. In 2006 he did an essential mix for BBC Radio One in the United Kingdom. In addition to his original mixes, he has also remixed a number of notable artists’ songs including Sia, The Killers, Swedish House Mafia, Depeche Mode, Armin Van Burren, and Arctic Monkeys.
In March 2008 Van Doorn released his first full-length album entitled “Supernaturalistic” with Spinnin’ Records, a Dutch independent label. Also that same year he won an award for 'Best Breakthrough DJ' in the International Dance Music Awards at the Miami Winter Music Conference. His music was well received by both fans and electronic music critics around the world, and during the summer of 2010 he had residency at the world famous Amnesia nightclub in Ibiza, Spain. He has since played a number of major music festivals including the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States and Transmission in Prague, Czech Republic.
In 2011 Van Doorn released his second album, “Eleve11” and played at Energy, Mysteryland, EDC and started a residency at worldwide Sensation festivals. In addition to continual releases of his songs and remixes, he also started his own monthly internet radio show called "Identity" on Digitally Imported radio.
Sander Van Doorn’s performance at Ultra Music festival in Miami, Florida, USA was nothing short of exhilarating, as was expected. The Netherlands born DJ, who has collaborated with artists like The Killers and Lady Gaga brought a show that was so full of energy not dancing was not an option; especially with such a packed crowd.
The hour-long set started out strong, with a lot of anticipation being built up until a sky full of streamers hot the peak of the first song. Unfortunately the MC for the show was a little too much and kept trying to pump up a crowd that was already ready to go. Sander really just needed to continue doing his thing without the help of the MC. The stage was really simple, which made sense because it was still light out, but there was still some background light synced to the music; but to make up for it, there were a few stage dancers. Sander was also very crowd engaging, getting the crowd up and moving with his arm pumping.
The best part about the set was the fact that he drew so many different people. At Ultra people are coming from all around the world and during his set you saw a lot of different country flags, all enjoying the music that Sander was playing.
Lange, his stage name short for Stuart Langelaan, is a DJ and record producer from the UK. His career started off in 1997 when he signed to his first record label 'Additive Records'. He gained a lot of recognition straight away with some of his releases, getting the attention of many people in the industry. Several of his hits made it to the UK Singles Chart very early on, his first one being 'Protect Your Mind'. He has made some appearances on compilation albums, more recently he's done well as a club DJ, touring internationally to play at different clubs and some festivals. His music had me dancing until I felt like I couldn't stand any longer, and although the amount of strobe lights and effects sent my eyes a bit funny for the majority of the night, his performance was unforgettable for me. The environment was electric and there wasn't a spare inch on the dance floor. He most recently released his third album called 'We Are Lucky People', which is really worth listening too. I have followed him more since seeing his live performance and would love to see him in a club environment again, that’s the kind of crowd he does best with.
I had never been to a Marco V concert, and only heard what music my husband played in the car. He surprised me with tickets to see Marco V at Sensation, which isn't really my scene but he really wanted me to and so I went along with it. Everything was so full of energy, everyone was pumped, and according to many of the people I had spoke to, it was his best set yet. The whole show was integrated, the lights, the dancing, it all seemed to flow so perfectly together. I don't think I saw a single person sit down the entire show. It started off super high energy and he was able to hold that energy for the entire set, almost three hours. The venue was packed to the brim with people dancing and the lights flashing. I understood why my husband wanted to share this experience with me, and now I think I'll be hooked on, if not dance music, the shows for the rest of my life. Even though I was so sore and it felt like I had jelly for legs the following day I would do it again in a heartbeat. Decent parking, ok service.
