The band, consisting of the married couple John and Korey Cooper, lead vocals, bass, and rhythm guitar, keys, and backing vocals respectively, have sold well over 2million albums in the US. Their other band members, Seth Morrison and Jen Ledger fill in the sound with drums, vocals, and lead guitar. With eight studio albums under their belt, the band have been nominated for several awards, including Grammy nominations, and their album Awake placed at number 2 on the Billboard 200 as it entered the chart, and their album Comatose was certified Gold.
Although the band have been through several line up changes, they have remained consistent and haven’t slowed their intense touring schedule. Band members Cooper and Sterots who formed the original line up met through tours with their own bands and began collaborating before forming the first generation of Skillet. Over the years, throughout the changes, the bands sound has developed and evolved, but maintains their original undertones, never straying from their Christian rock vibe and message.
The crossover of Christian music and rock makes the sound accessible to the masses, and has gained the band much credibility and critical acclaim over the years. As well as headlining their own tours, the band have toured alongside other artists such as Three Days Grace and Seether.

Ever been to a Skillet concert?
I have!!!! Last year at Soulfest 2013 the last night my friend Kim and I went and I have to say I loved it and enjoyed their energy. Playing under the stars in Gilford New Hampshire they were on fire. There were 10,000 screaming people there, people even brought skillets!!!!! They have excellent pyro they set off during their songs but that is not all, they reach people who believe in God and who might be struggling with their belief. Some of the songs they sang off their new album called Rise were American Noise, and Sick of it. American Noise was my favorite song because they set off fireworks over the stage. Some of the other songs they played were awake and alive and rebirthing which they also used pyro for, but their main focus isn't about setting off pyro every night or how good it looks, it is about God and reaching people of all ages. Skillet has eight albums out, two of them receiving Grammy nominations. They were formed in Memphis Tennessee. If you have not been to a Skillet concert then I recommend you go to one and enjoy the show! I did.
Skillet was amazing. They featured a surprisingly intense guitar playing, and their addition of violin and cello was awesome. They opened up with 'Hero' (my fave song) and closed with another great hit. They were the first band I ever saw to use pyrotechnics, which was impressive. I was not as big of a fan of the proselytizing between songs, or the slower songs in the middle of the set, as their singer really can't sing melodic songs that well (which he admits) not that it stops him. I'd enjoy them more on a non-religious bill (like maybe Uproar Fest) more since hearing preaching was a waste of my time as a non-religious fan of their music.
Hello Everybody,
GO SEE SKILLET LIVE!!
Or more specific:
It was my son’s first concert. I’d never heard of Skillet before. It’s the type of music I like so he let me hear a few songs. Not bad. When I sam them live yesterday I was like wow!
The band has so much energy and power.
It’s firework on stage!! You can’t miss the frontman!!! Nice interactions with all the people. The band is a must see. Big compliments to the female drummer. She is fantastic!!! Any chance they might wanna perform in Metropool at Hengelo Ov.
skillet was amazing i really enjoyed it they played all there songs amazingly like usual and at the end they walked off stage and we all chanted for them to come back and they did i really like it when they played my favriote song resistance overall i rate them a 10/10 for there gig at sydney opera house i did go to the winterfest 2017 were they played and i have been to a couple of there concerts in america they are a reallly amazing and talented band they and john cooper really involves the crowd
Went to the show not really having any expectations but left impressed. The band had great energy on stage and the flowed through to the crowd. During songs like Monster the whole floor was jumping, which from the balcony was really cool to watch.
Also, first show at the venue and was really impressed. Nice intimate venue where you can get a good view of the stage from almost anywhere.
All in all a great show in a great venue, would definitely do it again and recommend it to others.
Skillet sounded amazing live! They played good songs, introduced me to some of their songs I'd never heard before, and performed a lot of old favorites as well. I loved the songs with the cello and piano in them, that was a creative idea on their part. John, Korey, Jen, and Seth are extremely talented people and I'm glad I got to go see them perform live. I'll definitely go to one of their concerts again if I get the chance. :)
The group was great. Impressive energy and Good feeling with the audience. The organisation was the worst I have seen. Only one entry with 3 people.1to check the ticket and 2 for security check. Which resulted in an never-ending queue. Inside no place for children So if you want to bring your child to a concert don't go there. And in the end the people there were very unfriendly. That was my last concert there.
I have never seen Skillet live before. I have listened to their music for years so I was hoping that they would be good, but instead they were great, exciting and put on a very amazing and energetic show! I hope to see them again many more times in concert. Everyone in the group sounds and plays just like they do on their records, nobody has lost their original voice or instrumental talent.
I saw Skillet on the Carnival of Madness tour in 2013 and they did an amazing job! It's hard to compete with performances from Papa Roach and Shinedown, but Skillet made all panheads proud with their performance! Elevating platforms with a screen that played their music videos in the background! Plus the violinists looked awesome! I am looking forward to my next Skillet concert now!
I'm a huge fan of skillet and the music was good my only issue is the security many people were drunk off there ass and smoking weed security should have did something kids were at this concert and the security was extremely rude if skillet ever comes to CT it shouldn't be at the Xfinity theater
