Butterfly Boucher, aside from being absolutely charming and entirely wonderful, also happens to be particularly talented at making me feel emotional. You only need to play 'A Bitter Song' once for me to feel melancholic and fondly remember seeing this amazing woman perform with Missy Higgins. The two lovely ladies were full of good banter, laughing and making jokes before actually starting their collaboration - the chemistry and good intent between them was clear as day. Although she came from humble roots, playing bass guitar in a start-up band in Adelaide, Boucher has grown over the years to become a powerful, independently successful, and very talented artist. She's got a great lyrical instinct, and the confidence with which she performs is unmatched. It's evident she's very proud of her work, but still maintains an air of humility and good humour. It's something that her audience picks up on, and it sets both her and the crowd into a great mood. One of her more recent songs, 'Not Fooling Anyone' is a really gorgeous work, and her performance with Katie Herzig combines a clear unique voice with a charming overtone. Butterfly is a strong artist with a bright future ahead of her, and her talent shines through everything she does.
