Broussard’s thriving solo career began in the form of a re-worked version of a song called “The Wanderer”, which was released on an album through Island Records called “Carencro”. The title comes from Broussard’s hometown. It was in 2007 that Broussard released “S.O.S: Save Out Soul”, an album made up of covers. It made it to number 96 in the Billboard 200 charts. Following this, he released “Must Be The Water EP” which was recorded on the Rock Boat VII in January 2008. It became Broussard’s debut release on the major label, Atlantic in 2007.
His song “Home” featured in TV shows such as Clash of the Choirs. Another, “Must Be the Water” was the theme song for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game. Around this era, he performed on a variety of late night shows, helping to garner an increasingly widespread and loyal fanbase. He was then to release his third full-length album, “Keep Coming Back”.
Broussard released his following eponymous album on June 14th 2011. The album featured the singles, “Lucky” and “Only Everything”. The following year he signed to Vanguard Records. On his new label he released an album called “Live from Full Sail University” on April 9th 2013, which went to number 27 on the US Rock Charts.

I've been hooked on Marc Broussard since 2004 when he opened for Los Lonely Boys (I won free tickets to the show from my job). I got the chance to meet Marc after his performance outside as they were loading up their van and he signed my CD that I had just bought. I instantly fell in Love with his Southern charm and humbling demeanor. This is probably my 10th time seeing him perform live and I am still in love. His music comes from the depths of his soul and makes you want to dance, sing, cry and hum right along with him. This was my first time seeing MingoFishtrap and boy oh boy they rocked my world too! The lead singer's pipes were right up there with Marc's! I am an instant fan! At times I felt like I was right in the middle of New Orleans just jamming away. I am very thankful that many moons ago I chose to show up early for a concert that I really had no intention on going to...and also very thankful for Marc continuing to put his heart out there with his music. Oh and also this was my first time at the Rex Theatre and I really enjoyed the set up, the tilted floor is a must at any concert venue...if only the rest of the Pittsburgh venues would pick up on that. Can't wait till next time! :) Lacey Cwynar
Marc Broussard brings to the congregation that soul, rock, pop also known as “Bayou Soul”. His voice is painful, telling what sounds like real stories through the medium of music. Tonight, this bearded songwriter performs songs from throughout his career, highlighting his most recent work. “Hurricane Heart” is the song that brings a vibe of bittersweet to this room tonight, his voice is gravelly, with a taste of a slow vibrato colouring in his tone with all the right components to move and impress the listener at the same time. He performs today on an acoustic guitar accompanied by a pianist who plays almost to counter Broussard’s voice throughout this set. “Shine” is the song that builds from the start into a stunning climax where lyrically it sounds as though he is touching on seasonal affected depression! He ends the song singing notes as high as Prince but as gravelly as Van Morrison. “Honesty” is such a good set closer, with his guitar in an alternative tuning. Hands down, one of the best finds this year. Hat’s off Marc Broussard.
This guy is incredible! He has unbelievable talent in voice, acoustic, and song writing.
The way he went from one song to the next was mind blowing. His song list was longer than most and he kept the audience entertained in a way that I have never experienced. His band is equally amazing. Their skills are off the charts. You can tell that they truly love what they do and they leave you wanting more. I fell in love with Marc's voice and style after hearing him on Pandora. I bought his album and love everyone of his songs and I can't wait to get his newest album. If you get the chance to see him live, go. You'll be so glad that you did.
It was fantastic to see Marc and and the line up. He was better than great live vs listening to him in my car for sure. My only complaint was for ticket master. I went by myself and the app would not allow me to purchase the closer more expensive seats even though it showed available because they would only sell the pit tickets that were left as a pair. Yet the seats I wanted were left vacant the entire night. I checked. I had to settle for further seats in section 101....sniffle.
great concert and we love the Cholerhalle! Intimate great place to see quality musicians. Marc Broussard was just as anticipated-wonderful, great musician, sincere/genuine non-commercially driven guy singing from his soul. He and his drummer were phenomenal!
He and his band were AWESOME!!! They played their hearts out and looked like they too were having the time of their lives! We met them after the show. What nice, down to earth people they are! I'd go to see them again and again!
Awesome concert. Enjoyed every song. The music was sharp & crisp. Can't wait to hear his new album coming out soon. Would definitely go back and see him again. The venue is a great place, close and intimate.
What can one say about Marc Broussard -- AMAZING voice; AMAZING talent; AMAZING show!! If you have not been to one of his shows before - you will be remiss to not go the next time you get a chance!! AMAZING!!!
Marc Broussard and his band put on a great, soulful show. He had the concert hall dancing, and the audience seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had a great time! The show was a treat to see on St. Patrick's Day.
The show was killer! Marc destroyed as usual. Great venue! Excellent acoustics! I would love to see more acts like this in Pitman! Wish they served beer but other than that, i was throughly impressed.
