Imaginary Expedition

Doors open at 7pm and the open stage will begin at 7.30 so sign up to perform before then. Imaginary Expedition will play at around 9pm. Please bring a cash donation of $15 to help cover the rent on the space and the duo's honorarium.

The Catweazle Club takes place at The Real Estate Shop at 1033 College Street. It's at the corner of College St. and Rusholme Park Crescent.

Based on the club in Oxford, England, Catweazle is all about intimate engagement. There's no microphone, and the everyone piles together at the front on pillows, rugs, and couches for an up-close, participatory experience. We culminate with a short set by a featured act, and there's also lots of time to mingle and meet new people.

Freespirited folk duo with chamber music sensibilities, Imaginary Expedition explores natural and emotional landscapes in intricate harmony and counterpoint. Toronto-based Victoria Dobbs and Glyph Greenleaf create all-original works combining folk songwriting with early music composition techniques, drawing people closer with their alto and baritone voices and lap-style classical guitar. Their songs spark daydreams and send listeners on journeys through memory, grief, gratitude, and self-reflection, with lyrics that explore emotional terrain shaped by the vivid changing seasons of the North, with imagery drawn from great lakes, old-growth forests, open prairies, wetlands, shield rock, and luminous skies.
