Cajun styled, hot and spicy with flare. Chris Thomas King is an innovator, a real musical genius. He took rap and blues and created an exceptional fusion which will leave your ears swooning for more. Provocatively sexy his bluesy rhythms will eagerly seep into your very soul.
The perfect backdrop for a late summer festival. It was hot out, at least 100 degrees and the humidity was making it insufferable. Think I'd consumed at least four large bottles of water and still felt a bit heat-fatigued, but Chris Thomas King's live performance took my mind right off the hellish weather conditions. Baptized In Dirty Water was the first song I heard. This man is a god, a real living legend. He can control the stage and demand your undivided attention.
With a bit more water and a plate of some authentic southern food, I was totally in my element. The crowd went wild, whooping it up and hollering, expressing the need to hear more. It was then that Chris Thomas King began to play Red Mud. Wow. My favorite song of his. It was beautiful. The music was so mellow and melodic yet the lyrics carried a significant message. Such a blessing that this man pursued his natural talents and now wishes to share this with us.
