Israel Nash

Israel Nash, 31.08.14 a small gig at the Castle Pub, Manchester. UK This was great, great night out; Israel Nash is a fabulous singer and a lovely genuine guy. The set moved very quickly from one song to the next their sound is amazing, astonishingly good for a three piece. They played most of Rain Plans LP which for musically and vocally paints a huge landscape as big as the Americas, kind of like Eagles did 70s and & U2 did in the 80s. There is no-lack of energy from Israel Nash; his voice is powerful and meaningful as good live as on any recording. His songs are reminiscent of Neil Young and at times the voice. But he has very much got his own style and sound there is no copying here. Where he sang, the place was very pokey and had no air conditioner. It was incredibly stuffy. He made a jokey reference to it but kept things moving apace. After the show he spoke with most of the audience as did his two bands mates and stood for photos. Best American band I’ve seen since My Morning Jacket an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. The band consists of Jim James. Thanks Israel!
