The Jim Jones Revue is one of the coolest bands that I have had stumbled upon with their batch of punk, rock and blues. They recorded their self-titled debut album in their rehearsal space in Camden, London in just 48 hours. Tonight, they are all about their biggest work to date, being the soundtrack to what is going to be quite the party atmosphere indeed. They open with the infectiously catchy “Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey” which is familiar to this audience who in fairness probably own everything that they’ve released since their debut in 2008. It’s all about their most recent release, “Savage Heart” and material from that particular album. “Midnight Oceans & Savage Heart” is one of the biggest songs of the evening, inspiring clapping, ohh’s and ahh’s and a whole lot of dancing. Jim Jones is a fantastic front man, showcasing plenty of charisma, with the way that he commands the audience throughout this electrifying set.
For the last seven years, the Jim Jones Revue have grown into a great live rock n roll band gaining much success. This gig at the Forum was to be their last ever show. And what a show it was. A fantastic set which they threw everything at, playing a spectrum of songs covering the three albums. The audience knew they were in for a truly spectacular night and were not disappointed. The energy showed by The Jim Jones was remarkable as they all depart from the band bowing out at the top. I wish all five of them the very best for the future.
