Flipper was awesome at the Regent Theater, and the crowd gave them a most exuberant and spirited response! They played all their "hits" and stand outs were Sacrifice, Life and of course Sex Bomb Baby.
David Yao was a phenomenal front man who growled out the lyrics in fine fashion. He totally engaged the audience and many times handed the mic to the crowd to sing the songs. He also dived into the audience many times and crowd surfed!
Ted Falconi was brilliant on guitar. For anybody that knows Flipper, the guitar sound is quite unlike most bands, and Ted
Rachel Thoele was equally brilliant on bass guitar. Flipper's sound of course is very bottom-heavy and Rachel's bass work carried the band.
Steve DePace pounded the drums with aplomb. Along with Ted he is the other remaining founding member of the band and Steve clearly enjoyed their performance.
Very cool show...
Lots of energy. Dude is an entertainer, for sure.
Nostalgia, with a twist.
:)
Haven't bought a shirt at a show in forever; had to get one here.
