Egyptian Hip Hop a British indie rock band that has nothing to do with Egypt. I've been a fan of Egyptian Hop Hop for a long time and I was thrilled when I got the chance to see them do a live show at Victoria Park in London.
Their first song was "Alanon," which is also one of their most popular. Sweet strumming on the guitar and a little keyboard, along with a tastefully done and not-overpowering light show, proved to be perfect companions for Alex Hewett as he sang my one of my favorites, "Yoro Diallo."
"Moon Crooner" was definitely an audience favorite and the crowd could hardly keep still. What really made the audience go crazy was "Rad Pitt" and flashing red lights probably helped set the mood.
Egyptian Hip Hop isn't just a British band that is only appreciated locally, because it has world wide recognition and an extremely large fan base. Their live show proved to me that they aren't just about music, but their fans and making sure their fans are happy and entertained. If you have the chance to see Egyptian Hip Hop, be sure to go. It's an amazing musical experience.
