We had great seats, middle, balcony. The show started 30 minutes late but went non-stop then for 2 & a half hours
Up to 12 on stage at any one time, some playing multiple instruments but essentially 6 guitarists, keyboards/sax, drums, piano plus 3 singers who came on individually from time to time
All in all a great evening, listening to everything you know from most albums, exceptions were no Jean Genie, nor, surprisingly, Let's Dance
Outstanding performance of the evening was Joe Sumner (Sting's son) early, on singing Life on Mars...brilliant; and very lively throughout Closely followed by Peter ?, an Australian from the warm up band they had on tour there some years ago - he did a great Golden Years. Both of these were generally good anyway the whole time
As for the 3 singers: Rafael? (French) was a little quiet; a guy who had produced several Duran Duran albums sang about 5 numbers, all very good; and finally, Angelo, whose idea this was apparently, dressed up for every number he did...to be honest, I found his clowning around irritating and the only downside to the show, but I think I was in the minority - in any event he also did some great numbers
The pianist did the intros and all musicians were very accomplished - it was a very polished show, even if occasionally there was a tendency to slip into a Bowie voice occasionally...a very minor criticism
No doubt worth every penny, enjoyable, fun; a good tribute - this was the kick off for the US & European tour and it will only get even better - check if its coming near you & go and get a ticket!
