The great thing about Project Pitchfork’s electro wave music is that it’s incredibly diverse and the fusion of dance beats, catchy chorus melodies, and powerful lyrics makes the band appealing to a wide spectrum of audience members. The show began with strobe lights showing the robotic movement of the band members on stage, before they launched straight into their first track. The way that the layer metal style vocals on top of electronic sounding beats is exciting and original, and had the crowd singing and dancing along very enthusiastically.
All of the band members were incredibly enthusiastic, if a little intense, but I was prepared for this, as I’d heard a lot about their theatricality and dedication of stage. When they played Blood-Line, the singer jumped down into the crowd, and was dancing intensely whilst maintaining great vocals. Each band member had the opportunity to play an instrumental solo, and they were all incredible, and seeing them play live really gave me an appreciation of their music that I’d never taken from their recordings.
