Supalung and Sam Brookes

We saw Supalung at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in July ‘25. Probably the happy highlight of the festival- everyone dancing and so very much in love with this band after 3 days of exquisite music, they sure held their own! Then they announced they were performing in Winnipeg later in the week on the same night we had tickets to another show- oh woe were we! Until we realized that the band we had planned to see were in fact opening for Supalung. It was the music highlight of the summer! Please please please come back- please!!!!!!

Sam Brookes is a great singer/song writer with electric/acoustic guitar; this time with a bassist and drummer who were both also great. His music is mellow, moody, lively, surprising and the lyrics are significant. He played lots of songs from his Kairos album, and some new stuff which I look forward to buying. Pity it was only an hour long concert; I look forward to his next tour.
