Dash Rip Rock and RZA

As the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan - in his own words, “I’m not the leader, we all lead our own selves. I’m just the one who gives the most advice” - RZA’s vritues are many, ranging from his genuinely groundbreaking work as the group’s producer, with whom he produced some of the greatest beats in the history of hip hop, to his endearing honesty; when the Clan appeared on MTV Cribs, he ushered the cameras into his room within the band’s shared LA mansion, gestured at the television and uttered the immortal line, “I be up in here watching kung fu flicks and pornos.” He’s also dabbled in his own records - who in the Clan hasn’t? (answer: literally nobody) - and released Digi Snacks, his third under his solo Bobby Digital moniker, in 2008 (Google the brilliant, NSFW artwork). He’s toured solo, too, although not as prodigiously as some of his bandmates; his last UK jaunt came in May of 2008, in support of Digi Snacks; he took to the stage clutching his customary bottle of champagne, flanked only by a single beat-dropper. He’s currently working on two new Wu albums, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin and A Better Tomorrow, so Bobby is on the back burner; expect him to return to it sooner than later, though.
