Ernest Aines

Ernest Aines is an award-winning Australian alt-folk singer-songwriter known for his striking voice, intricate guitar work and emotionally rich songwriting.

Since the release of his debut album Spiral Bound, Aines has built a growing international audience through extensive touring across Australia, the UK, Ireland and the USA. His recent tours have included multiple sold-out shows, with audiences responding with standing ovations along the way.

A Folk Alliance International Official Showcase artist in both 2023 and 2026, Aines has also received recognition from Folk Alliance Australia and the Music Victoria Awards. His music has taken him to stages including Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections and festivals and venues across the US.

Drawing comparisons to artists such as Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, Aines combines the intimacy of classic singer-songwriters with a distinctive contemporary alt-folk sound.
