Vienna Philharmonic

The revered Vienna Philharmonic performs its third and final Mahler symphony of the week at Carnegie Hall. This matinee performance of Mahler’s iconic “Resurrection” Symphony is part of a complete Mahler symphony cycle by visionary conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, whose sole prior performance of the work at Carnegie Hall was called “amazement befitting a miracle … as special an event as every ‘Resurrection’ ought to be” (The New York Times). Joined by a choir and soloists Christiane Karg and Elīna Garanča, he brings one of music’s most glorious creations back to the stage where Mahler conducted its US premiere.
