About NoHo Arts District

The NoHo Arts District is a vibrant cultural hub in the San Fernando Valley, known for its dense mix of theaters, rehearsal spaces, art galleries, creative studios, as well as marquee LA landmarks like the Television Academy. Maybe life on Earth, with all its miniature, momentary deaths and rebirths, really does have something to do with our zodiac signs. Singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin thinks so. Her sophomore album, SCORPIO, takes its name from her sign and its three phases (scorpion, eagle, and phoenix) which parallel her personal evolution since her 2023 debut, I Hope You can Forgive Me.

The confident woman you hear on SCORPIO was born from the ashes of heartbreak. For Madison, love — specifically self-love — is a revealer of truths. It’s this album’s inspiration: “I truly believe that I went through it because I've created art that's going to change my life.” SCORPIO is what it sounds like when the stars align.

Founder of Stone’s Throw Records, Chris Manak first started making a name for himself DJ’ing under the name Peanut Butter Wolf. While the success of Stone’s Throw has been continually growing, Peanut Butter Wolf continues to produce new albums and tour around the world to give his fans the best damn show he possibly can.

Watching a live set done by Peanut Butter Wolf is watching a master artist at his craft. Every switch, every button switch, all the timing is done with such precision and complete concentration; all the while he is still very in tune with the environment going on around him. Behind him, a visual video of animation, extraction of other videos, all things that are very much a part of the show as the music is. It is a production work, meticulously planned and carried out. The abstraction of his music is met by the artist styling that he sets up around him, and produces with his music. While people give a lot of flack to DJ’s not really being artists because they are not instrumentalists are proven very wrong when you watch Peanut Butter Wolf for the first time. Each piece fits together as a formula embodied by his music.

Beautiful show !!! One woman band show using her voice to loop sounds. Very cool ! Second time seeing her live and loved her show. She sweetly threw long stem roses into the audience after her last song to celebrate Valentine’s Day. I was lucky enough to catch one ! She comes from wonderful music stock and is coming into her own as an incredible artist. I look forward to more shows and music.
