Another top notch make me party! Amazing sound system, simple yet brain-bending light show, a nice crowd really appreciating the music (as well as a massive Italian crew who turned out to greet their hero). Village underground somehow seemed, despite the size of the main room, to adapt really well to the 'small sweaty club' vibe.
So what more could you ask for as a backdrop to two sublime dj's? Blind observatory opened with a deep, futuristic neon-lit techno journey, taking in slabs of 90s electro, and building just the right foundations for dozzy to bring in his trademark hypnotic mindfuck grooves.
The simple but freaky light show made really creative, textural use of strobes - fading, shimmering and syncopating, rather than just the traditional perfunctory blasts of light - combing seamlessly with the music and the heat of the crowd's sweaty bodies bobbing in unison, to create moments of sublime intensity.
Make me really are amongst the best party organisers in London today, and last night's production was up there with the best.
