The Lost Songs returns to The Mick Lally Theatre on 18 April — a true story of ransomware, loss, and the long road back to stolen music.
In 2017, a hard drive of original recordings was locked by the GandCrab virus. A frantic attempt to recover them led into the dark web and an emptied bank account days before Christmas. Instead of celebrating, Christmas Day became a rebuild‑from‑memory marathon. Those tracks stayed sealed away until 2021, when new decryption tools finally cracked them open.
This audio-visual performance brings that journey to the stage through storytelling, sound, audience participation, brand‑new live visuals by Conor Maloney, and a short live band set to close the night. The theatre becomes a reactive landscape of loss, distortion, and resurrection.
