KING DUDE
A missing link between Earth and Johnny Cash, KING DUDE has been exploring the darkest paths of American folk for fifteen years, in both blistering electric and mournful acoustic versions. He comes to haunt Aigle Castle as a duo, singing of love, death, the devil, and light in his inimitable sepulchral voice. Fans of Swans, Woven Hand, or Robert Johnson, come running!
La Cave Alain Emery
(The Alian Emery Wine Cellar)
A fifth-generation Emery in the Aigle vineyards (they arrived as early as 1883), Alain took over in 2007 – joined by his brother Marc – a 5-hectare estate nestled between the Beauregard hillsides (opposite the Dents-du-Midi mountains) and the vineyards surrounding the Château. Cultivated using sustainable practices (Vinatura label), they produce a range of about ten wines (the classic Chasselas, Pinot Noir, and Gamay) enhanced by a few more unconventional wines (including a barrel-aged Gamaret vinified in the Port style).
Château d’Aigle
(Aigle Castle)
Once the residence of the Knights of Aigle, then of the Bernese Governors (back when they beheaded Vaudois officers), and a dreadful prison until 1972, Aigle Castle has dominated the Chablais region since the 12th century. Among the country's most magnificent monuments, it houses the Museum of Vine, Wine, and Labels – perfect timing for a "Humus & Wine" session. With the support of the cultural commission of the municipality of Aigle.

I was very curious and positive about going to and seing the concert. I love the albums - and that voice!
Unfortunately it wasn't that good. Maybe too high expectations? The band was cool, I really liked their bass player: she was great and seemed to have fun. A bit over the top was that drinking straight from the bourbon bottle, that was a boring thing and didn't fit, King! The music was lame and the only time it kicked was when the band really played Rock'n'Roll. But most of the time I really must say it was almost boring. I personnaly assume that both band and audience had a bad day. I saw Me And That Man some days before and they really kicked ass.
