It was everything I expected and more!
Charlie Museelwhite, the talented individual from Mississippi,USA, gave a breath taking performance the 2014 winner of the blues music award in the category of the best instrumentalist, which is not hard at all to see and understand why.
Charlie brings so much soul to the stage and shares it with the audience. The instrumentation really allows for the audience to get into the song, a personal favourite of mine being his song 'Chan Chan', it comes with such a gentle vibe although that song was originally done with 'The Buenavista Social Club, Charlie still pulls it off with such perfection as if they were in the room also!
When performing 'The blues took over me' some of the audience members stomped their feet while others began to do the swing, it felt as if we had taken a step back in time when things were easier and strangers could actually converse without it being an argument. Charlie brings people together and that is exactly how it should be!
The interaction with the audience was unrivaled as he always had a story to tell to keep the audience engaged at every moment and carried through with his catchphrase 'I ain't lying'
Go and see Charlie you will love it! I ain't lying!
