Balimaya Project and Yahael Camara Onono

Balimaya Project is the London-based big-band jazz ensemble led by percussionist Yahael Camara Onono, fusing Mandé West African traditions with contemporary jazz, Afrobeat, and the sounds of Black London. Formed in 2019, the group brings together up to 16 musicians from across generations and backgrounds, exploring rhythm, melody, and improvisation rooted in both African heritage and diasporic experience.
