Bic Runga is an amazing girl who plays some beautiful music. Seeing her live was such a cool opportunity. I had always heard of her music but never had a face to put it to her name.
Bic Runga is a beautiful young woman who looks very exotic, daughter to a Malaysian singer mother and a Maori soldier father. She is a New Zealand native and took an interest in music as a career early on in her life. Watching her play her acoustic guitar and sing along to her relaxing chord progressions is quite a treat. This is a very talented girl here.
Her voice is very soothing and never falters and the note choice of the chords and licks she plucks on her guitar is so impressive and has a nostalgic feeling. It is very happy music but has a hint of sadness to it that just makes it beautiful.
For most of the set, the crowd is too mesmerized by her beauty and it remains silent, save but for a few parts where she hits a high note and then the crowd whistles and acknowledges the glory that this pretty young New Zealand woman shares with the audience.
