Shines UK

Shines are a UK indie rock / shoegaze band from Grimsby blending jangly guitars, driving rhythms and melodic alternative hooks. Influenced by The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Oasis, Mac DeMarco and The Drums, their sound sits between Britpop revival, dream pop and modern guitar indie.

Shines are Richie Dutton (vocals), Ethan Taylor (guitar), Danny Thomas (bass) and Chris Day (drums).

Following support from Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Introducing, and the release of their debut album How It Ends plus singles including “Same Streets, Different Ghosts”, the band are heading out on a 2026 UK tour with headline shows and festival appearances across England.
