Sandra Ann Lauer, better known as Sandra, made her side to fame in the late 80s with her exciting and fun synthpop music. She produces several European hits, including Secret Land, and Hiroshima. As well as a successful solo career, she also put vocals on many tracks for the group Enigma, widening her fan base. She has been called in the past the most successful German female pop artist, and she is still going strong with her performances today.
Seeing her in concert was a real showcase of what it was to be an artist in the 80s. She has a line of backing dancers with whim she would occasionally join in the choreography with, and she was dressed in glittery outfits with several costume changes. Her vocals however weren’t hiding behind this show as many people suspected, but complemented them with her voice still being incredibly strong.
She opened the show with one of her hits from back in the day, Ever Lasting Love, and had everyone singing along from the word go. She was great at engaging the audience with the catchy tune and getting everyone to sing along. Although it was a little cheesy, they had the lyrics of the songs on a stylised projector behind so that everyone could sing along, which I was a little hesitant about, but it turned out to be great fun!
