Danny Grissett

Pianist and composer Danny Grissett is a musician of rare elegance, a master of touch, tone and taste whose playing balances technical brilliance with deep, soulful expression. A Los Angeles native and long-time New York first-call sideman, Grissett has spent over two decades at the heart of the international jazz scene, performing with Vincent Herring, Nicholas Payton, Benny Golson, Russell Malone, and most notably as a key member of Tom Harrell’s band for more than 15 years.

Praised by DownBeat Magazine for his “melodic clarity” and “impressionistic beauty”, Grissett has released a string of acclaimed albums, including Remembrance (2017) and Travelogue (2025), the latter hailed as a career highlight for its lyricism and precision. Now based in Vienna, he continues to perform internationally and shape the next generation of musicians through his teaching at JAM Music Lab University.
