Wow, what can I say? I have been a fan of Chris Norman since I was 9 and he was the lead singer of Smokie. The group really stood out back then, not least because of their harmonies but also because of Chris' incredible voice. To me Chris Norman was always the gorgeous lead singer with the incredible voice and the most contagious smile I had ever seen. He also made my heart skip a few too many beats. Now, 40 years later, nothing has changed. He is still gorgeous, has the most wonderful voice and contagious smile ever... And my heart still skips way too many beats! The concert was a mix of the classic Smokie songs along with new songs from Chris' latest album, which is well worth a listen. There was a mix of ballads to rock music that made it impossible to stand still. The Chris Norman Band are comprised of a fantastic group of very talented musicians and singers who each shine throughout the show. Pam MacBeth's singing and Geoff Carline's guitar playing are a joy for any music fan. So, good music coupled with Chris' natural ability to entertain with his brilliant sense of humour and experience made a truly fantastic evening. It was the first time I had seen Chris play live and many people warned me that after wanting to see someone for so long, often many people were disappointed on first seeing their idols. This was definitely not true for Chris. He was everything I had expected and more. Honestly, I cannot recommend Chris and the Chris Norman band highly enough. If you are unsure whether to go, do... I am sure you will have a truly memorable evening.
