French pop musician Florent Pagny began his career in the early nineties after having brief success as a television and film actor. His debut album ‘Merci’ released in 1990 sparked controversy among the press which resulted in many of them boycotting his music, causing a steep decline in sales thus making it difficult to continue the level of success he had created. With the help of Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman who wrote a couple of songs for Pagny under a pseudonym and with a whole new team working with him gave him a whole new lease of life. In 1998 Pagny was recognised by the French Mistry of Culture and was awarded Male Artist of the Year. The release of his third album ‘Rester Vrai’ in 1994 marked the turning point of his career at which culminated in him achieving twelve top 5 albums in the French music charts. With his signature headband and his shimmering silver suit, Pagny commands the stage with confidence and charisma. Accompanied by a string quartet and a brass band adds to the grandeur of his performances as his infectious energy and power-fuelled pop ballads intertwined with electronic undertones fill concert halls with audiences up on their feet clapping along to the beat. Florent Pagny is a natural born performer, and perform he does as he lets go and embraces his music giving all the passion and soul he has in him.
