The Battle of the Bands tour was born when Shabang Music Productions opened up their Artist Performance Application for the 2023 edition of the Shabang Live Music & Arts Festival which takes place May 5th & 6th of 2023 in San Luis Obispo, CA. After receiving 100's of worth submissions to play on the Shabang stage but with only so many slots, they teamed up with Free The Youth to open up more slots. Thus, Battle of the Bands was born.

5 bands each have been selected from San Luis Obispo, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz to Battle it out on-stage for a chance to win $1,000 and a performance slot at Shabang 2023. The winners are decided by a mix of crowd vote & a judges panel. Check out the line-ups by city below:
