Teeth of the Sea

I knew nowt about this band but the fact that they were described as hard hitting electronica caught my attention. I love the venue and I'm passionate about the venue (Star and Shadow Newcastle)
I really enjoyed the show.. I thought the fullness of the sound was impressive.. I thought the trumpet layered over the top of the raging beats and melody added a true touch of colour , tone and complexity. It was really good to have the organic sounds coming together with the digitised stuff
I liked the light show samples some of which I recognised , but cut up and multi-layered so that Willie Wonka looked quite terrifying peering through a miasma of reds, oranges and yellows , overlooking the thunderous music
It was infectious in the way in which beauty and melody emerged out of and over the top of the industrial caucophony really caught the room and heads were nodding and fists pumped to the beat

Love Teeth of the Sea -- and they're one of those rarities (especially for music with an electronic backbone) where they are even better live than on record. If you like their music at all and they're on tour near you, make sure to go!
