Alpha

Alpha are one of, if not, the creators of the modern and youthful genre trip hop. This is where down tempo rock clashes with the digital revolution of electronic instruments. This wave of electronic waves came crashing down in the mid 90's to then revolutionise music to this very day. And its thanks to Alpha for their unsung hero affect of introdcing this beautiful, transit of music.

Their debut LP 'Come From Heaven' sent the band on a voyague across the seas, exploring new horizons of fans, cultures and music identities. For me the band peaked 10 years after their first record when they released what was to be their 8th record, and truly their best work. 'The Sky is Mine,' in 2007 was a nuephoric emotional tranquil log flume of Groove Armarda-esque sounds with superb lyrics and vocals over the top. The band went different ways after that album, but coming together again to produce 3 stunning pieces of art. And now their musical minds have combined magically yet again to conjure up another mix of awesome waves of sound.

They are tourning around the UK, not to mention a couple of times in Newcastle, so any Geordie lovers of Alpha dont miss out.
