Live reviews
I've been a fan of rock music for a long time, and one of the bands that comprises some of my fondest memories of seeing rock music live is the band XTC.
As a father, I've made sure to introduce and instill a love of music of all genres in my daughter and son, and XTC is one of the bands I tried to get them hooked on first.
I remember seeing them live at the Waldorf plenty of years ago, and the pure joy displayed on stage is different than a lot of artists these days. Many musicians these days are hooked on fame and being bold, whereas Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding were in it for the love of music.
XTC was around for decades, even though they weren't always touring, and realizing this now truly makes it an honor to have seen them live in the Waldorf. Between their pure charisma and positive interaction with the crowd, thanking us for being there, and the setlist, seeing XTC was truly a special experience.
Playing such great songs as "Life Begins At the Hop" and my personal favorite, "Instant Tunes," the members of XTC rocked out on guitar like there would never be another live show, even though the next night they would, of course, be performing at the Waldorf again.
