Biography
Founded by lead vocalist Austin Carlile (formerly of Attack!Attack!) and bassist Jaxin Hall in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. Together they recruited drummer Valentino Arteaga (formerly of Lower Definition), guitarist Jon Kintz (formerly of Odd Project), and guitarist Phil Manansala. This resulted in Austin and Jaxin moving to California, but shortly after Kintz departed from the group and was replaced by Shayley Bourget.
The band gained attention and popularity from their myspace page, resulting in their signing with Rise Records. By spring 2010 the band released their first, self-titled album followed by a two tours as the support for the Squash the Beef Tour and the Atticus Tour and was a part of the Vans Warped Tour. Unfortunately, Carlile had to have heart surgery and was not able to tour, and in addition to some conflict with the rest of the band, he left the band, leaving Roush to take over lead vocals. Later that same year, Jaxin left for personal reasons, later replaced by Dane Poppin (formerly of A Static Lullaby).
In early 2011 the band came to a decision to let go of Roush in favor of brining back Carlile as lead vocalist. Carlile’s return also welcomed guitarist Alan Ashby, and a lineup rearrangement was made so Bourget was playing bass. With the new line-up, the band recorded and released “The Flood” in 2011 and went on a headlining tour; in addition they returned for the 2011 Vans Warped Tour. In 2012 they underwent another lineup change when Shayley departed from the band, and Aaron Pauley took over as the bass player just in time for the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. In 2014 the band released their third album, “Restoring Force” and toured throughout the UK and America.
Live reviews
The show was amazing!!!! I flew out from New York to see them play in Italy! I got to meet Phil, Alan, and Austin! I had bought them several things as well, and they were really appreciative as well, they all were suprised to hear that I came such a long way to see them, I had given them a letter which they ha read and Austin actually came over to meet me and accept the gifts and he hugged me several times and was so polite, he spent so much time talking with me since I could speak English besides everyone else, and he was the sweetest person you could ever meet. I was able to get to the front of the pit which was amazing, they put on such an amazing show!! You could really tell that they put their heart and soul into what they love, the pit was awesome and everyone was enjoying themselves and it was just so awesome! I also made a few friends at the show and I was so happy, Austin even said on stage that "we even have some New Yorkers out here" and he really cares about his fans, they are an amazing band and put on an amazing show. It was one of the best days of my life. I can't thank them enough for everything.
One of the most dedicated bands even after Austin left OM&M, they still sing their older songs such as O.G. Loko despite Aaron taking vocals! They also had guitar picks on their mic stands to throw out during their performance and Tino gave out his drum sticks to the crowd in the end.
They exceeded well even just being an opening act band, felt like a full OM&M concert experience XP
One thing about the venue @TheTruman is that it needs an actual area to meet & greet them. After meeting OM&M we were waiting inside but we weren’t allowed to go in the actual floor until all early entry were let in to the floor. They let Nothing More VIPs on the floor as the first ones (understandable for they paid more), then they let early entry (which was quite a lot) to go in next to the floor, then they decided to let OM&M VIPs (which was just 6 in total) to go in right before they let GA go in... From my own experience I wasn’t too happy for that but the experience of the shows from Palisades, Badflowers, Of Mice & Men, & Nothing More was well of a show!
I saw of mice and men live in Manchester and I can truthfully say it was one of the best nights of my life, and more than likely the best gig I have ever attended, it made me feel a part of something, Austin really interacted well and when he ordered we sit down for the opening of the depths it was honestly one of the best bits about the show, the mosh pits were surreal and there probably wasn't one I didn't go in, yet it made my evening that bit more exciting, the music was class live and the support acts really built up a good atmosphere in the crowd, a small venue gig with 3 acts that will never fail to get you going, there is no wrong in it at all. fair play to the boys. smashed it.

Half God Half Devil tour. Avatar, Of Mice and Men, In This Moment.
Heres the deal, I wasnt into Of Mice and Men untill lastnight. I tokk my son because he loves them. They only played five or six songs as one of the opening bands. They play with a lot of energy, but not too much stage presence. Sound tight and clean dispite some apparent technical diffuculties with one of the guitars. I was kinda bummed their set was so short because I felt like they were just getting warmed up. You can call me a fan Of Mice and Men now! I'll just have to look forward to when I can take my kid and see them as a headliner.
I missed of mice and men, and the crowd was pretty shitty. The crowd wasn't into the bands at all, and gave little to no feedback when the artists requested them to do simple concert things.
The performance, on the other hand, was magnificent. Rise Against sounded amazing, and I could tell he was pleased to be in Nashville. I feel sympathetic because the crowd's feedback was horrible.
Linkin Park was absolutely outstanding and I enjoyed myself with my girlfriend, and friend on our girl's night out in Nashville.
Other than the crowd bring shitty, these three girls had an extravagant time.
When the Full Circle tour came to Nashville it was the first time I had ever seen Of Mice & Men live. It was the best concert that I have ever been too! Crown The Empire is my favorite band and this was the 4th time I saw them play live. So I expected them to be amazing, but then Of Mice & Men came out and topped their performance!! I have been an Of Mice & Men fan for awhile now and they are more amazing live than I could've ever thought. I will be going to see them live every time that they come to Nashville. I might even travel to see them sometime.
I saw these guys back at Warped Tour seven odd years ago. They were amazing then and are amazing now. All of the quality they put out is mind blowing. Their music has such an emotional impact and is honestly a form of therapy. Support these dedicated musicians and good honest people by paying for your music. This is the only band I not only purchase on iTunes but also have to buy the cd for the experience, It's the cheapest form of therapy there is. Keep doing your thing boys! Still have that $100 bill I had you guys sign. So deserving of this success
Great Concert! Was so excited that they did a small venue like State Theatre, especially since they sandwiched this day in between stadium shows with Linkin Park.
They played a mix of songs from all albums including the newest one to be released. I've always heard that the crowds go crazy at their shows and this one didn't disappoint. Austin was the first to come onstage and from that moment, the place was insane.
Highly recommend seeing them to anyone!
This was the most disappointing show I've been to this year. I received an email saying that Aaron injured himself from singing, causing the band to cancel their appearance (we were only notified a few hours before doors opened anyways). There were only two other bands lined up for the concert, and we were only given $5 back for a partial refund with our original tickets. It was the biggest waste of my time and money spent on a concert. Ever.
When I found out Of Mice & Men were playing a show so close by I knew I had to get a ticket and many of my friends did too. The concert was azing they played songs from their newest album Restoring Force and some from one of their first albums. It was crazy and wild and amazing. After the show some of the bamd members came out to talk to the fans. Austin Carlile gave me a hug! It was definetly worthe the $25 for the ticket.
